The glorious champion of the tasting: Pinot Noir Grand Select 2004 from Weingut Wieninger. For Fritz Wieninger, the Pinot Noir is, and always has been, a very special grape variety.”I was always convinced that my vineyard sites on the Bisamberg and the Nussberg can deliver truly great wines. And this international victory is a wonderful confirmation.”

Wien (Vienna) ahead of Burgundy

In second place was Comte Georges de Vogué Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 2005 from Burgundy, followed by JR Reinisch Pinot Noir Holzspur Grande Reserve 2007 from Austria's Thermenregion.
